What exactly is Defiant?

Defiant is a browser companion for Forge of Empires that automates the repetitive parts of the game — Guild Expedition, production and incident collection, Great Building sniping, plunder tracking, daily routines, and inventory upkeep. It runs as a docked panel alongside the game.

Does Defiant need my password or account login?

No. Defiant never sees your password and doesn't handle login. You sign in to Forge of Empires the same way you always do; Defiant only activates after you're already in your world.

Will it spend my diamonds?

Not unless you turn that off. Diamond spending is blocked by default. You also have a medal-spend cap per session and adjustable buy limits for GE attempts. Defiant errs on the side of doing nothing rather than something expensive.

Can I stop it mid-action?

Yes. Every running module has a Stop button. Closing the panel or the game tab halts automation immediately. There is no background process — when the tab is gone, Defiant is gone.

Does it run while I'm away from the computer?

Only as long as your browser tab is open. Defiant lives in the page, not on a server. There is no remote scheduler and no offline farming.

Is it allowed by the Forge of Empires team?

Automation tools are not officially supported. Use Defiant the same way you would any third-party browser tool — keep the guardrails on, don't use it on an account you cannot afford to lose, and stay aware of changes to the game's terms of service.

Will it play the whole game for me?

No, and that's on purpose. Defiant handles repetitive chores. The strategic decisions — forge-point investment, guild choice, attack targeting, how far to push GE each week — stay with you. That's where the game is actually fun.

What happens if my connection drops?

Defiant has built-in reconnect recovery. If your session drops, automation pauses automatically. You can configure how it should react after repeated reconnects (typically: stop, so you can investigate).

Does it work on every Forge of Empires world?

Defiant works on standard Forge of Empires worlds in the browser. It does not run inside the mobile app.

How do I update settings later?

Open the Settings tab in the panel. Every toggle, priority list, and limit is editable on the fly and persists across sessions.

Where is my data stored?

Locally, in your browser. Logs, history, and settings live on your machine. Defiant has no central server and collects no telemetry.

Is Defiant free? How does the project make money?

Defiant is completely free — no paywalls and no locked features. Development is funded by voluntary supporters who want to keep the project alive. See the Support page for details.
